Третий таск вторых соревнований в Форбсе я не летала. Чего правда не скажешь по результатам. Оказалось, минимальную дистанцию поставили всем, кто отказался лететь из "safety reasons" - из соображений безопасности. Так даже в правилах прописали: если просто так не летишь - DNF (did not fly), если не летишь из safety reasons - тебе очки дадут за 10 км.

Что для меня было странно и интересно: я так понимаю, в формуле этот статус DNF специально сделан, чтобы отследить тех пилотов, которые были на старте и лететь не захотели. Таким образом формула оценивает условия на старте и безопасность. А тут половине пилотов (кто собрал и разобрал аппараты) дали 10 км, второй половине (кто просто не стал собирать аппараты) - ABS (отсутствовал).
That was quite strange and interesting for me, because before I always thought that the DNF status was invented to provide safety mechanism in GAP formula: if a significant number of pilots at launch think that the day is not worth the risk of launching and flying, then the gung-ho pilots who did go will not get so many points. In our case it turned out, that the half of the pilots, who didn't like the weather conditions, got the scores of 10 kilometers flight, and another half (who didn't sign in but were on launch) got ABS (absent).

А не полетела треть пилотов, потому что выглядело все ну как-то совсем пессимистично. Прогноз, который более чем сбывался в предыдущие дни, обещал обильные осадки на маршруте и в цели, сильный, близкий к нелетному, ветер и низкую базу. Ветер и база сбылись один в один.

Но в итоге те, кто летал, пролетели нормально и только чуть-чуть дождика зацепили.
