ECC day 2

Таск 57 км, на север.
Task 57 km, to the North.

Погода опять слабая. Но 11 человек долетели до цели(всего 22 человека в Open Class, 2 в Rigid Class, 10 в Sport Class).
Первые Mark Frutiger, Larry Bunner и Davis Straub. Но по итогам двух дней первый все-таки Paris Williams, не летавший в соревнованиях до этого 2 года и имеющий Аэрос Комбат пятилетней давности:)
The weather was stable again, but 11 pilots still made goal (there are 22 pilots in Open class, two pilots in Rigid class, and 10 pilots in Sport Class).
The winners today were Mark Frutiger, Larry Bunner and Davis Straub, but in overall scoring the leader is still Paris Williams, who hasn't competed in two years and who has five years old Aeros-glider:)

А у меня не получилось. Я была не в то время и не в том месте - рекорд по непродолжительности полета - 13 минут вместе с буксировкой, 5.5 км дальность:)
Ужас!

My day wasn't successfull. I was not in the right place not in the right time. I set a record of flight shortness: 13 minutes in the air (including towing); distance 5.5 km.

Пошла утешаться драгонфлаями:)
A bit of solace in a Dragonfly:)

Добрый Адам дал мне полетать на его тяжелом драгонфлае. Он очень отличается от легкого драгонфлая Бобби. Но я все равно его хорошо приземлила:) Даже в сильный ветер под 90 градусов к курсу:)
Kind-hearted Adam allowed me to fly his heavy Dragonfly which is very different from Bobby's light Dragonfly. Even with quite strong cross wind I still managed to make good landings:)

Потом было еще куча времени, и мы поехали на экскурсию в Annapolis, столицу штата Maryland. Старый город, красивый.
Afterwards, we still had a lot of time so we visited Annapolis, the capital of Maryland. It is a very old and beautiful city.

Ну как же летать в такую погоду? Когда компео даже не пискнет? Да, я знаю про: всегда держаться высоко, низко не опускаться, не гнать, обрабатывать каждый встреченный пузырь. Стараюсь! Блин, видимо недостаточно.
Но прикольно, когда весь полет проходит на высоте 200-600 м. Находишь термики по птичкам, шевелению травы, запахам.

А вообще, конечно, нужно учиться летать в такой stable. Пригодится.

And how to fly in such weather? When my Compeo doesn't even make sound:)? Yes, I know: always be high, never get low, do not race, work with every thermal. I try! Probably, not enough..
Still, it is kind of fun when you are between 200 and 600 meters for the entire flight. You find thermals by birds, by the stir of the grass, by smells.

Even so, I need to learn how to fly in such stable weather. It will come in handy.
