Когда вы в Сиднее, погода неважная (восточит-северит, ветер сильный), а облетаться срочно хочется, можно поехать полетать в парке Hill60. Для кого-то место может показаться скучноватым: всего лишь 60-метровой высоты холм, да дюны вокруг. Кому-то может показаться сложным старт с обрыва или посадка на футбольное поле или пляж (на выбор). Но на самом деле... место изумительное:)
If you are in Sydney, keen to fly, but the weather conditions are not very supportive for Stanwell, you might try a place called Hill 60. For some this place might seem boring: only 60 meters high hill and dunes around. For others the take off from the cliff and the soccer field landing might seem a bit too hard. But in reality the place is wonderful:)!
На небольшом расстоянии от берега вы увидите пеликаний остров. Оказывается, пеликаны - отличные парители. Для них ветреные дни - как билет на автобус домой. Они выпаривают в динамике как можно выше, и потом с идеальным качеством планируют через океан... Ни единого взмаха крыльями:)!
Not very far from the coastal line you will see a pelican's island. It turned out that pelicans are very good at soaring. Windy days for them are like a bus ticket home. They soar the hill up as high as possible, and then glide over the ocean with the glide ratio, you can be only envious of:)
Летают пеликаны обычно формациями - так проще. Чаще всего летят парами или квартетами. Те, кому не досталась пара пристраиваются... к дельтапланеристам:) Только дельтапланеристы ссут лететь так глубоко в океан. А жаль:)
Pelicans usually fly in formations - it's easier for them apparently. Most often they fly in pairs or quartets. Those who did not get a pair start following hang gliders:) Pity that hang gliders don't dare to fly too far into the ocean:)
Хороший полет выглядит так: стартовать с обрывчика, выпарить, повыпендриваться перед стартом на радость туристам, а потом поиграть в "чикен гейм": кто дальше улетит в океан. Кто раньше повернул назад, тот и "чикен":) Нервы щекотит:) Летя вглубь океана думаешь, что все уже, уже до берега еле дотянешь, поворачивашь, а потом с попутным прилетаешь на середину склона и еще и дальше выпариваешь:)
The good flight might have a following scenario: take off from the hill, soar up, show off a bit for curious tourists, and then play the "chicken game": who dares to fly into the ocean further. Who got scared first and turned back is the chicken:) Tickling the nerves:) You turn back so low, that you think you won't get it back to the beach. But then breeze helps you, and you come back in the middle of the hill, still able to soar up:)
Слева (на север) от старта находится небольшой выступ земли, а потом - дюны. Можно стартануть с дюн, и прилететь на Hill60. А если на Лайтспиде, то можно еще и вернуться:)! Можно попарить в динамике от зданий. Можно сесть на пляже и искупаться. В общем, вот оно, счастье:)
On the left hand side there is a little headland, and further away - dunes. You might take off from the dunes, and fly to Hill 60! And if you fly Litespeed and use some VG, you might even come all the way back to dunes:) Also you can soar off the buildings. Or you can land on the beach and have a swim. Happiness, in other words:)
