В общем, дней десять тут уже стоит нелетная погода. Дожди и ветер не тот. И тут проблеснула надежда. В нормальные времена на такой прогноз ни за что бы не поехали - северный ветер для всех мест слишком уж боковой. Но тут мы уже готовы на все:)

What horrible weather conditions here lately! Ten unflyable days! Rain and wind from the wrong directions:( So when we've got sun and winds from the North-North-East (which is quite cross wind for all places around here) we were really desperate to try:)

Подошли мы к этому делу серьезно - подцепили треэйлер и забрали все глайдеры на облет. 12 глайдеров на трех пилотов:) Смотрится очень-очень внушительно:) Особенно, когда знаешь прогноз:)

I think we looked really impressive towing a trailer with all the gliders that needed to be test flown. Twelve gliders for three pilots:) Verrrry impressive:) Especially when one knows the weather forecast:)

Сначала приехали на Хил 60. Больше часа езды от Сиднея на юг. На вершине горки такие же отчаявшиеся ждать погоды пилоты. Ветер боковой. Пеликаны, которые никогда лишний раз крыльями махать не будут, машут как миленькие...Эх.

At first we came to Hill 60, which is more than an hour south of Sydney. We met other desperate pilots on the top of the hill... Cross winds... Even lazy pelicans was flapping their wings. Eh.

Спустились вниз, на дюны. Тут еще более боковой.
Went down to the dunes. The winds are even more cross.

Ок, осталась надежда на Сэндон Пойнт - небольшие дюны под северо-восточный ветер немного ближе к Сиднею. Редко тут кто бывает. Выгружаемся - так и есть. Пойдет! И сразу у всех опять хорошее настроение:)

Ok, we still have hope for Sandon Pt., which is more fit for northerly winds. Not so often you can see hangglider pilots here. Checking the weather! Yes! Flyable:) And everyone is instantly happy:)
