Trofeo Montegrappa - Task 5 & Results
Последний таск самых долгих по количеству летных дней Бассановских соревнований за последние много лет (обычно Пасха случается раньше, соревнования проводятся раньше, и погода не очень; а в этот погода лётная все дни).
This was the last day of one of the most flyable competitions in Bassano for many years. Usually Easter happens much earlier and this annual event happens much earlier, when the weather conditions are not so good yet. But this time all days were flyable and taskable!
С утра погода выглядела...ну..не очень. Так-то вполне стандартная для Бассано минимальная видимость (это даже не облака толком, это влажность), поэтому таск поставили, хоть и короткий: 88 километров через пять поворотников
In the morning the weather conditions didn't look really attractive. But this low visibility (it is not really a cloud base, it is just high humidity) is quite common for Bassano, so the pilots went up and set an 88 kilometer task with five turnpoints.
И опять перетасовачный таск! Номер два на вчерашний день Примош и номер шесть небезысвестный Манфред Румер не долетают до цели, а Герольф Хенрикс и Елио Каталди вообще не летают таск.
And again a leader-board reshuffling task! Number two pilot Primoz and number six well-known Manfred didn't make it to the goal field. Elio didn't fly the task due to his crash in the previous day. Gerolf didn't fly because the day before after a hard flare he broke a little part of his carbon keel section which turned out to be unreplaceable until the next morning.

С утра погода выглядела...ну..не очень. Так-то вполне стандартная для Бассано минимальная видимость (это даже не облака толком, это влажность), поэтому таск поставили, хоть и короткий: 88 километров через пять поворотников

Trofeo Montegrappa - Task 4
Короткий 91-километровый таск с тремя поворотниками и вылетом в долину.
Short 91 kilometer task with three turnpoints and with a foray out into the valley.
Прогноз погоды обещал дожди после обеда, небо постепенно затягивало, поэтому и поставили такой короткий таск. Но даже он оказался длинноват: пилоты летели его довольно долго, так как база была низкая, довольно быстро все накрыло тенью и сложно было найти что-то в долине.
The weather forecast promised rain in the afternoon; the sky was really becoming overcast quite fast, so that's why they set so a short task. But even this task turned out to be quite tricky: low cloud base, lots of shadow everywhere, hard-to-find thermals in the valley.
Но даже в этих нелегких условиях 23 пилота долетело до цели, в том числе Антон Струганов, - молодцы. Результаты ЗДЕСЬ.
But even in such difficult conditions twenty three hangglider pilots made goal - well done! Day 4 results can be found HERE.

Ох уж эти посадки: с одной стороны дерево, с другой - земля. И добрые консольки все прощают!
Oh, those landings! While one wings is hitting the ground, the other one is hitting a tree! And soft leading edges forgive everything!
Самая большая неприятность случилась с итальянцем Элио Каталди: при заходе на посадку он сбрасывал высоту спиралями и задел дерево. Рухнул с него вертикально вниз с жутким грохотом. Но, слава Богу, обошлось. Аппарат, конечно, в хлам, но у самого ничего серьезного.
The biggest accident happened this time with Elio Cataldi: he hit the tree while he was making his last turn before landing and he fell from the top of the tree to the ground in no time with loud scary crash. Thank God, nothing serious happened to him. Only his glider was damaged.

64 километра через три поворотника.
Перетасовачный таск. Многие лидеры не долетели, в том числе номера 1 и 3 на вчерашний день Манфред Румер и Алекс Плонер. Всего в цели не более 10 пилотов - не густо. Первым финишировал Кристиан Чех - хорошо летает чел.

Вообще, условия были не ахти. Небо было затянуто, иногда накрапывал дождик. Очень долго не стартовали, несколько раз меняли таск, делали все короче и короче. В итоге стартанули уже после четырех часов дня и полетели короткий таск с поворотниками в долине.
The weather conditions were not really spectacular: it was overcast, a gentle rain was dropping. Pilots changed the task a few times, making it shorter. In the end they took off only after 4 pm and flew short task with three turnpoints in the valley.
Те, кто финишировал, долетали уже на бровях. Перед финишным полем долго посадок толком нету, так что те, кто долетел, уже были просто рады, что дотянули.
Some pilots, who managed to make goal, were coming in very low. There were no landings before the goal field, so they were happy, that they simply made it to the landing field.

Впечатляющий такой полет, нестандартный для Бассано. Сначало - в другую долину, через перевал, в Белуно, а потом в цель в третью долину около Тренто, вдоль Доломитовских отвесов. Красота...
Interesting and scenic flight: first over the ridge to other valley to Belluno; then secondly, along the breathtaking Dolomites towards Trento.

День выиграл Манфред Румер, умудрился-таки оторваться ото всех страстных последователей. Больше половины пилотов в цели. Погода была очень сильная и турбулентная. Пилоты прилетели очень быстро, многие быстрее драйверов. Но без происшествий опять не обошлось: кто-то из итальянских пилотов на ВилсВинге кувыркнулся и спускался на парашюте, периодически стукаясь об каменистые скалки. Линду Саламон увезли в госпиталь: сломала три позвонка на посадке, которую и посадкой-то не назовешь:( .
Остальная масса довольна таском, потому что необычно, далеко и красиво.
Manfred Ruhmer won the day. He managed somehow to cut adrift from his followers. 64 pilots made goal - that's cool. The pilots flew their task very fast: lots of them came to the goal faster than their drivers. The weather conditions were quite rough and turbulent, especially over the big mountains. Unfortunately, we had two accidents: one of the Italian pilots on a WillsWing tumbled and went down on his chute, hitting the rocky mountains with his wings now and then on the way to the ground o_O. The pilot is okay, but the glider is destroyed. Linda Salamone damaged three vertebrae in her neck on the landing, which hardly can be called "landing":(. She's been released from the hospital with a brace around her neck.
The rest of the pilots are happy with the task, as it was very scenic and unusual.

Seppi didn't fly the task because of a minor mid-air collision he had with some unknown yellowish glider. Nothing was broken, just a little scratch.

Italy In Spring
Быть может, самое лучшее место на земле сейчас - Бассано. Что может быть лучше теплой цветущей весны в Италии:)?
Perhaps one of the best places on the Earth right now is Bassano. What can be better than warm, flowering spring in Italy:)?
На ежегодные весенние соревнования в Бассано - Трофео Монтеграппа - приехали пилоты со всей Европы. Количество пилотов - как на Чемпионате Мира (только стартовый взнос в три раза меньше:)). И все счастливые - наконец-то можно полетать. И погода стоит обалденная: тепло, высоко, хорошие потоки.
Pilots from all over Europe came to the annual spring event in Bassano - Trofeo Montegrappa. There are almost the same quantity of hangglider pilots here as will be at the World Championships, plus the same quantity of paraglider pilots (only the entry fee is three times smaller:)). All the pilots are happy to fly and to see each other. Big flying party! And the weather is kick-ass: warm, high, good thermals.
