Yippee! The Little Malibu Is Ready:)

Огого, сказала я себе, когда увидела фотки малыша Малибу в таком ракурсе:

Говорят, что маленький Малибу еще более кайфовый, чем большой. И по управлению, и по динамике. Куда уже кайфовееее тооо:)))

Всю зиму я летала на большом (аж 17.5 квадратных метров), и он мне казался просто игрушкой. Ух как я люблю большой Малибу:) И всю зиму Герольф раздумывал над малышом Малибу (15.4 квадратных метра), все ему не нравились срывные характеристики, все он не был счастлив с аппаратиком. А теперь не только он счастлив: судя по отзывам, там сейчас все счастливы:) Я тож такой хочу:)

They say, that the little Malibu is even more gratifying than a big one. Easier handling, better dynamics. How could anything be easier:))))!!! All winter long I flew a big Malibu (17.5 sq. meters) and it seemed so much like a toy to me:) I really liked that Malibu:) And all winter long Gerolf was engineering a mini Malibu (15.4 sq. meters). He wasn't happy with the stall characteristic of his first attempt and he was working on making it perfect. Now not only Gerolf is happy: everyone seems to be happy there:) I can't wait to try it:)

Spring Is Coming :)

It's hard to find another time or place where there are so many happy, smiling faces on the streets as one can observe during the first days of the coming spring:)

А еще я люблю этот город:)

Training Dragons

Смотрели на днях мультик "Как приручить дракона" (офигительный мультик, кстати:) Спасибо Женьке и Илье, что выгуляли меня:)).

Так вот. Этот мультфильм... Он так сильно и неожиданно разбудил приглушенное последнее время желание ЛЕТАТЬ... Такой сильный, прямо-таки зов крови. Просто невероятно. Просто капец, как же жить-то так, когда просто необходимо объять воздух крыльями. Хоть стой, хоть падай, хоть вой на луну. Все силы и желания - туда. Летать.

I just came home after watching the movie "How to train your dragon" (a really really cool cartoon, by the way:) Thanks to Zhenya and Ilya for taking me out:))

All of a sudden this movie woke up this strong desire TO FLY, which had been suppressed lately...It is like the call of the wild, the call of the nature, the call of my blood, of my genes, of every cell of my body. Unbelievable. Oh my God, I have no idea how to live with such addiction, when I NEED to feel the air with my wings. Doesn't matter what I do... All my strength, all my will, all my wishes return there. TO FLY.

Russian Open 2010

Ну что, русскоговорящие уже все равно все знают:) Как перевел с английского на русский свой долгий пост о ЧР Артур: Чемпионат России 2010 будет в Курае:)

Вот САЙТ с описаниями, регламентом, регистрацией. Вот ФОРУМ с актииииивным обсуждением регламента. Из нового, пожалуй, только более ранние, чем обычно, сроки проведения соревнований (с 14 по 28 июня, никто толком погоду в это время не знает). И как-то дороговато все звучит в этому году. А так все как раньше - огромный завораживающий Алтай со своими родными красивейшими ущельями и ледяными речками:)
Ну, и для тех кто по какой-то случайности в Курае еще не был, я ТУТ довольно-таки подробно его описывала:)

I've written once already about the Kuray mountains, a wild and amazingly beautiful place near the border with China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. This year the Russian Open and Russian National Championship are going to be held there from 14th to 28th of June. I think this place doesn't need any additional promotions - just look at the pictures:) The only questionable thing this year is the weather conditions at such early dates. Usually we fly there in July, but this year the dates were changed because of the European and Pre-Wrold competitions. I described everything about Kuray last time: map, living, weather conditions. I would only add that the Kuray mountains are so huge, so wild, that they really give this feeling of the strength and the endless energy of nature. And it draws your there like a magnet again and again.
Yes, it would be not an easy adventure for European pilot. It is a long flight (four hours flight from Moscow to Novosibirsk and then the organizers would give you a transfer to the flying place, which takes almost a whole day), it takes money (the Moscow-Novosibirsk-Moscow flight is about €250, transfer is €50, entry fee is about €200 with retrieve included, living is about €10 per day), it takes time (more than two weeks) and it takes balls (you've got to live in tents, wash your face and brush your teeth in a cold mountain stream, wash your body in a banya (a kind of sauna), fly in high mountains with at high altitudes, and land near one single road). But! It is unforgettable life experience, isn't it;)? Haven't you been everywhere, but there:)?

26-й раз у меня 22-е марта:)
Already, for the twenty sixth time in my life I am having a 22nd of March:)

На день рождения были приглашены только герои мультфильмов:) Интересно, что при том, что никто не сговаривался, превалировали герои сказок Астрид Линдгрен:)
Тут и Карлсон, и Фрекен Бок, и Пеппи, и Айболит, и Красная Шапочка, и Фея/Баба-Яга (мы так и не определились:), и украинская невеста из "Жил был Пёс":)
Only cartoon characters were invited to my birthday party:) It was quite interesting that half of the characters were from Astrid Lindgren fairy tales (like Pippi, Karlsson, etc) though nobody said a word to each other before the party:)

Aeros Winter Race 2010

Ну, хоть посмотрим одним глазком, что пропустили:) Ajdovscina, Словения, 10-14 марта. Народ полетал, несмотря на сильнейшие ветра по началу. Победил Thomas Weissenberger на Moyes RS4, второй Primoz Gricar на Aeros Combat 09 13,2. Хотя...ведь не ради побед и соревнований туда приехали, а чтобы собраться теплым кругом друзей и открыть европейский летный сезон:)

Thanks to Matjaz, at least we can see what we missed:) 10-14th of March. Ajdovscina, Slovenia. After some really extreme weather (up to 200km/h winds) they had three perfect tasks. Thomas Weissenberger with his Moyes RS4 won the competition, Primoz Gricar with his Aeros Combat 09 13,2 came in second...But...actually, it was not that much about competing and winning. It was about finally seeing each other after long snowy winter, meeting each other in a warm circle of friends and opening the European flying season:)

Flying in Dombay Now

Домбай. Все наверное наслышаны об этих фантастически красивых, но довольно-таки диких горах Северного Кавказа. 65 км по прямой до вершины Эльбруса и 65 км до побережья Чёрного моря. Я уже даже писала о них, хотя никогда там не была. Очень красивые фотографии. Посадок только маловато. Жалко.

I've already written about the Caucasus mountain's beauty. Dombay is located in the northern part of the Caucasus, about 65 km form the top of Mt. Elbrus and about 65 km from the Black Sea coast. This place is one of the most difficult flying sites in Russia, but one of the most spectacular, too. You've gotta be a really experienced pilot to fly there. And, I would say, really motivated as well:)! Rough air, rare and small landings, tail wind on the launch. And cold! Because it is better to fly there during the winter season, when the weather conditions are more stable and not so rough... But all these difficulties are worth one single flight with baited breath above the three thousand meters high peaks, beautiful in so wild a way! Probably... We've gotta ask Artur to be sure..:)

Сейчас там проводится парапланерный Кубок Домбая. Сейчас! В марте. Среди снега. Бррр:) На соревнованиях находится наш шпион - небезызвестный дельтапланерист Артур Дзамихов, который периодически выкладывает все собранную информацию в свой блог:)

Russian paraglider pilots are competing there in the 2010 Dombay Cup right now. Now! In March. With all this snow everywhere around:) We sent our own spy there - well known hangglider pilot Artur Dzamikhov. He writes in his blog as soon as he's got some new information:)

The Scent of Spring

Запахло весной:) Чуть-чуть повеяло уже:) По утрам птицы орут при виде радостного весеннего солнца даже когда очень холодно. И периодически заряжает снегопад. Но пахнет! Уже пахнет весной:)

There is a scent of spring everywhere already:) Just a little breath of the spring...:) In the morning all the birds are screaming at the rays of the joyous spring sun, even when it is very cold. And we still occasionally have snowfalls. But this scent! The scent of the spring is everywhere already:)

Winter Competitions

Да, у нас тут все еще снежная-преснежная зима:) Но это никак не мешает летать и даже соревноваться. Кубок Усть-Катава на 8 мартовские праздники! Соревнования на скоростное планирование и посадку в цель. Повод собраться вместе теплой компанией. И открыть летный сезон:)

Yes, we are having a snowy snowy winter here:) But it is not an obstacle to flying and competing. Ust-Katav Cup during Woman International Day holidays! Speed gliding and spot landing competitions. Another reason to meet each other in a warm circle of friends. And open a new flying season:)

Усть-Катав - город в 250 км на запад от Челябинска, на западном склоне гор Южного Урала. Самый шик тут для пилотов - это стартануть с горки, поднабрать немного в динамике и на бэст-глайде перелететь город и приземлиться на речку:) Вот и летаем тут зимой - чтоб на лед садиться. А первый полет над городом всегда незабываем:)

Usk-Katav is located on the west slopes of Ural Mountains, about 250 km west of Chelyabinsk. The best thing to do here is to take off from the hill, climb up a bit, fly over the city at the best-glide speed a

nd land on the frozen river:)

(otherwise you have a chance of never reaching it and crashing into the town o_O) That's why we fly at the winter time here;).. The very first flight over the city is always breathtaking and unforgettable:)
